A recent survey by industry supplier Hamilton Fraser, the parent company operating Total Landlord Insurance, mydeposits, Client Money Protect and other products, has revealed that there is currently some hesitation by landlords in taking up the services of a lettings agency.
The reasons for this involve the higher costs due to fees no longer allowed to be charged to tenants, as well as the general lack of transparency in fees for add on services. This has resulted in the already high 48.3% of self-operating landlords, feeling less likely (56.7%) to take up an agency agreement in the future.
